FAQ On Carpet Cleaning

Q:Why is steam extraction better than water extraction?

A: Steam is much more effecient at removing the grease, dirt and debris that traps itself in the fibers of the carpet. It kills parasites, mites and viruses while using less water. This in turn mean faster drying times. READ MORE...

Q.  My friend said, when she had her carpet cleaned, the carpet became dirty very quickly.

A. Yes this can happen when a poor quality carpet cleaner pumps your carpet with detergent and does not rinse the detergent out.  A professional carpet cleaner will avoid this problem by pre-spraying your carpet first, then rinsing the pre-spray out, similar to a rinse cycle on a washing machine.   READ MORE...

Q. How often should I have my carpets cleaned?
A. The answer to this question can vary based upon each situation. If you're a residential carpet cleaning customer and your carpets don't get a lot of traffic, every six months is fine. If you have a lot of pets or a lot of traffic on your carpets, then we recommend every three months for a good deep soil cleaning.  If you're a commercial carpet cleaning customer, it also depends on traffic. If you run a high traffic business such as a restaurant, we recommend monthly carpet cleaning service. This keeps your facilities clean and makes sure you meet health code rules. If you run a back office that doesn't get a lot of traffic, then every 3-6 months is fine.

Q.  My friend tells me not to have my carpet cleaned because when she had her carpet cleaned the carpet became dirty very quickly.

Q. What stains will be removed when I have my carpets cleaned?
A. A spot is a substance that adheres to the carpet fiber, but has not become set. A stain is more advanced and may have become set. A professional carpet cleaner will remove all spots. (e.g. food, grease, mud, etc.)  A professional carpet cleaner will have more problems removing a set or permanent stain compared to a spot.  Will’s Carpet Care carries a large amount of stain removal solutions for the removal of coffee, tea, blood, cola, urine, red wine, etc.  If the stain has not set and become permanent, stain removal can be successful.

Q. What type of cleaning method do you use?
A. We use truck-mounted steam extraction units.

Q. How long does it take for the carpet to dry?
A. Usually 4-6 hours.

Q. Do you pre-treat spots?
A. Yes. We pre-treat spots over your entire carpet every time we clean.

Q. Will red stains come out with cleaning?
A. Sometimes. There is a special heat transfer process we can use that may remove red stains depending upon the specific type of red stain.
